While taking advantage of UMaine’s Kickin’ Flicks series, shown every Wednesday in Neville Hall, I was not alone in enjoying the amazing special effects and femme-tactic action scenes of Wonder Woman. However, I personally found that the closing credits of the film was truly a hidden gem.
As an aspiring graphic novelist, I naturally find that Marvel has a lot to offer in the way of artistic influence. In particular, Wonder Woman’s closing credits featured an animation that grasped a use of color, form, and movement that both built a world and told a story, in a way that could almost stand alone from the movie itself. Not that I would ever suggest that one could skip that kickin’ flick. It was quite a wild ride.
If you haven’t had a chance to watch this film yet, or if you happened to leave before the end credits (shame on you!) check it out below. And don’t miss tomorrow’s film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which will be shown at 8pm in Neville 101.
